Hole 1 - Par 4
A gentle dogleg opener, Hole 1 invites a confident tee shot to a picturesque plateau that sets up the approach. From there, a well struck iron can find a beautifully contoured green, perched on a rock ledge and designed to reward precision. Be mindful of the deep trays guarding both sides of the green, ready to catch pulled shots or wayward slices. The fairway offers generous width, though a drive pulled too far left can tumble into a deep gully. Play smart, trust your swing, and an opening par is well within reach.

Hole 2 - Par 4
An elevated tee gives players a clear view of their shot as it sails into a scenic valley running alongside Philadelphia Pike. Accuracy off the tee sets up a straightforward approach, though a large mound short of the green is positioned to collect topped or mishit iron shots. The green itself is slightly raised and framed by a cluster of mature trees, demanding a controlled approach. Several well placed bunkers guard the putting surface, but they remain playable and fair. With smart shot selection, this hole offers an excellent opportunity to card a comfortable par.

Hole 3 - Par 4
Hole 3 rewards a well placed drive up a gentle incline, setting up a manageable iron approach to the green. The putting surface is expansive and subtly rolling, offering multiple pin placements and requiring thoughtful touch on the greens. Framed by grass and sand mounds, the elevated green is both inviting and challenging, with fruit trees adding character along the edges. As one of the most enjoyable holes on the course, it completes a stretch of opening holes that are comfortably wide and generously long, perfect for settling into your round while keeping play moving smoothly.

Hole 4 - Par 3
Hole 4 is a striking short hole that tests both confidence and precision. From the tee, players must carry a picturesque, babbling brook and thread their shot between mature trees framing the line of play. The rebuilt green, now positioned exactly where Findlay originally envisioned, sits beyond the water and is well protected, rewarding a committed swing and controlled trajectory. Though it plays as the shortest par on the course, this hole demands respect; a well struck tee shot sets up an excellent birdie opportunity, while hesitation can quickly bring trouble into play. Elegant, scenic, and memorable, Hole 4 is a standout moment early in the round.

Hole 5 - Par 5
Hole 5 is a classic long hole that blends strategy with stunning scenery. A solid drive sets up a demanding second shot over the creek, followed by a precise pitch to a large, terraced green framed by water. A dramatic opening in the woods reveals a beautiful vista, with the green seemingly surrounded by the stream. Long hitters may be tempted to go for the green in two, but the narrow entrance and surrounding hazards make it a risky proposition. Thoughtful shot placement is rewarded here, and with smart decisions, an attainable par is well within reach.

Hole 6 - Par 3
Hole 6 presents a beautiful and demanding par 3 that requires a confident iron shot over a stream and valley to a hilltop green. Mature trees guard the right side, while a deep bunker protects the front and additional pits flank both sides of the putting surface. Precision is essential, as a well struck shot must carry all the way to the flag. Scenic and exacting, this hole stands as a true test of shot making and one of the finest par 3s on the course.

Hole 7 - Par 4
Hole 7 is a long and strategic par 4, playing even longer from its elevated tee. A well placed drive can find the plateau short of the stream, setting up a demanding approach. From there, a clean, well struck second shot is required to reach the elevated green, which sits gracefully in an open meadow. The putting surface is surrounded by shallow bunkers and rolling mounds, rewarding accuracy while offering birdie chances to strong ball strikers. This hole favors confident, committed swings and thoughtful course management from tee to green.

Hole 8 - Par 3
Hole 8 calls for a confident mid-iron to a green guarded by both natural beauty and subtle danger. A rushing creek runs along the front of the putting surface, ready to collect any topped tee shots, while mature trees on either side punish pulls and slices alike. A well struck shot, however, is rewarded with a receptive and well shaped green. Play to the center, trust your distance, and with steady putting, a solid par is well within reach.

Hole 9 - Par 4
Hole 9 is a picturesque finishing hole for the front nine, beginning with a drive that should be placed on a broad landing area atop a sweeping hill. From there, a well-controlled approach sets up a scoring opportunity on a green nestled near the clubhouse. The hole features a gentle dogleg, with towering trees providing a dramatic backdrop. Bunkers guard both sides and the front of the green, rewarding thoughtful shot placement and precision on approach. Scenic and well-balanced, this hole is as enjoyable to play as it is to admire from the tee.

Hole 10 - Par 3
Located just in front of the clubhouse, Hole 10 offers a classic par 3 that showcases the elegance of Reading Country Club. Playing to Findlay’s restored green, the hole demands a precise tee shot rather than power. The putting surface is thoughtfully and strategically bunkered, rewarding accuracy while remaining fair. Framed by a beautiful cluster of mature trees, the green provides a serene yet exacting target. Clean contact and confident distance control are the keys to securing par on this refined and welcoming hole.

Hole 11 - Par 4
Hole 11 is a sharp, strategic par 4 defined by an extreme dogleg that rewards thoughtful shot placement. A well-positioned drive sets up a demanding second shot, where accuracy is essential to find the green in regulation. The putting surface is generously sized, fitting for a true two-shot hole, and is shaped by subtle mounding that protects its corners. While the original fairway bunkers have been removed, a large bunker now guards the left side of the green, placing a premium on a precise approach. Smart course management and confident execution are key to securing par on this classic hole.

Hole 12 - Par 4
Hole 12 plays across a stretch of former pastureland and through a scenic apple orchard, offering a wide and inviting fairway off the tee. While the opening shot feels generous, the hole quickly reveals its challenge on the approach. Strong players can reach the green with a well-placed second shot, but accuracy and distance control are essential. At 360 yards, this par 4 remains one of the more demanding tests on the course, balanced beautifully by its pastoral setting and the pure enjoyment it delivers from tee to green.

Hole 13 - Par 4
Hole 13 appears straightforward at first glance, calling for a controlled drive followed by a mid-iron approach that can set up a par opportunity. The green is tucked neatly at the base of towering mature trees, creating a visually striking and well defined target. Fruit trees line the edges of the fairway, adding charm while reinforcing the importance of accuracy. While the hole plays fairly, anything offline is quickly penalized, making precision the key to scoring well on this classic par 4.

Hole 14 - Par 5
Hole 14 is a thrilling and demanding par 5 that rewards strength, strategy, and patience. Two powerful shots can advance the ball to the base of the green, but reaching it in two is rarely realistic due to the pronounced hogback fairway guarding the approach. From there, a precise third shot is required, played on a subtle dogleg line to a green carved into the face of a large hillside. The putting surface faces the approach and is surrounded by challenging contours and defenses, demanding thoughtful execution. Bold, scenic, and endlessly engaging, this hole stands as one of the finest long holes on the course and a true highlight of the round.

Hole 15 - Par 3
The final par 3 at Reading Country Club plays dramatically from an elevated tee down to a green set beyond a stream. Picturesque trees frame the hole along the sides and behind the putting surface, creating a beautiful yet demanding target.
The green is well built up and distinctly undulating, placing a premium on both distance control and precise aim. Any misplaced tee shot can quickly find trouble, but a well-struck iron that carries the creek and finds the right tier is rewarded with a very makeable look at par. Scenic, challenging, and memorable, Hole 15 is a standout in the club’s acclaimed collection of short holes.

Hole 16 - Par 4
Hole 16 begins with a confident drive over the creek, setting up a straightforward iron approach up a gentle, gradually rising hillside. The green is attractively framed by mature trees and well protected by bunkers on all sides, rewarding accuracy on the second shot. While it plays as a fair and approachable par 4, precision remains key around the putting surface. Just steps from the clubhouse, this hole offers a satisfying opportunity to post par, and, in match play, perhaps finish the contest early with a memorable walk back through the woods.

Hole 17 - Par 5
Hole 17 offers one of the most scenic tee shots on the course, with a sweeping downhill drive that opens to a broad and inviting landing area. From the tee, the view is as memorable as the challenge ahead. Long hitters are encouraged to be aggressive, as the hole’s generous width invites a bold second shot played with a fairway wood toward the green. The approach remains demanding, however, as the putting surface is thoughtfully bunkered and rewards only well-placed shots. Strategic, expansive, and visually striking, this long par 5 is a classic risk-and-reward test late in the round.

Hole 18 - Par 4
Hole 18 provides a fitting and memorable finish to the round. A solid drive followed by a well-controlled iron sets up the approach to an uphill green positioned near the clubhouse and framed by mature trees. The putting surface is thoughtfully protected by bunkers and subtle mounding, demanding accuracy on the final approach. Scenic, balanced, and rewarding, this closing par 4 brings the course home in classic style.
